food
of course i'd put this first. i love all of the fresh, seasonal produce. the CSA's are great, as are the farmers' markets. lots of organic, free-range, all natural options in the stores and restaurants alike. it's a high priority here and i love it.
beauty
on a clear day, the views are insanely beautiful. i love the terrain.
nice folks
overall, people are very friendly and open. being a transient, liberal city, i feel people are very accepting and kind.
day trips
sonoma, mendencino, santa cruz, carmel, napa, heldsburg, monterey, half moon bay. so close!
creativity
the city is an incubator for artists, new ideas and start-up businesses. it's a very inspiring environment.
ocean
the ocean is there anytime i want to go visit. there's something eternally wonderful about crashing waves the smell of the sea.
minimal sun damage
i had to say something positive about the fog. and sometimes it looks like a blizzard. that's pretty cool.
neighborhoods
san francisco is a very neighborhood oriented city. makes for fun exploration and diversity.
diversity
speaking of diversity, there's lots of it!
living in a hub
you can easily hop on an airplane to get anywhere at a relatively low cost.
