Introduction
These shows were cancelled despite the fact that they were brilliant and hilarious.
Network execs are assbags. Fortunately, most of these are available on dvd, so you can
watch it all over again...with commentary. Two websites that I use to cope are Brilliant but Cancelled:
http://www.brilliantbutcancelled.com/ and Television Without PIty: http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/
1
Arrested Development (FOX)
Meet the Bluths. From George-Michael and Maeby's "possibly" incestuous relationship.
to Gob playing "The Final Countdown" during his magic act, every detail of this show was genius. You just had to put your effing Blackberry down to get it.

2
Freaks & Geeks (ABC FAMILY)
Judd Apatow knows his people. This show was moved around enough that it lost a good chunck of whatever portion of loyal fanbase it was able to build. I'll just say that the guest stars were the icing on the cake. Joel Hodgson and Tracy Beaulieu from MST 3K, anyone?
3
My So-Called Life (MTV)
Angela Chase. Jordan Catalano. Brian Krakow.
A love triangle that I could finally indentify with.
This aired for one year on MTV in 1994.

Wonderfalls (FOX)
For some reason, this show never got off the ground. Also, it seemed viewers truly hated it. It was pretty quirky but I loved it. And I never would have discovered it if Travis hadn't loaned his dvd to me! The supporting cast is immensely talented, Jaye's family and friend, Mahandra routinely had me in stitches. Lee Pace and Tyrone Leitso-both are gorgeous and underused, Tracie Thombs is killer. She's is a lot of theater, but just recently starred in Grindhouse.
5
Carnivale (HBO)
This show was weird and bizarre. It reminded me of Geek Love by Katharine Dunn.
I knew the end was coming, it was so expensive to produce, but the way they left the ending was extremely unsatisfying.

Wow. I haven't heard of several of these and I watch a disturbing amount of television. "Arrested Development"... so brilliant. Add to the list "Curb Your Enthusiasm", unique humour although also so uncomfortable I find it difficult to watch.

Quantum Leap... was supposed to keep going but they canned the show on one hell of a cliffhanger!

Quantum Leap? Seriously? No offense man, but I think 5 seasons of "Oh Boy!" was just about enough for me.

Don't feel bad, Raant, I've never seen any of these either. Hmmm, I'm suddenly feeling very old.
