Windows Skinning????

Introduction
So, Zoomba, the skinning guy is in second place. I looked at the site, once. I don't understand skinning? It's under tech so it must have something to do with computers or ipod thingys or something. There are a lot of skins I know and understand, so I thought if I listed them it may help me figure out what his list is about - or not??

Skin
It's that saggy stuff all over my body. It didn't used to be saggy, so maybe yours isn't. Whatever, it certainly isn't very technical. No help there.

Skinning knees
I'm a clumsy oaf. I did this a lot as a kid. Well, okay I still do it, it just looks a lot funnier when I fall down now. This skinning requires band aids. Not very high tech...

Onion skin
This is a type of paper. I don't know why it is called onion skin other than it is kind of sheer and crinkly, like, well, onion skins. Maybe, in the olden days the environmentalists urged people to use onion skins for writing paper...

Skin diving
Swimming with the fishes (an entire different context if you're in Tony Soprano's group) this does require some equipment. I'm not sure what it has to do with Windows. There are glass bottom boats to look at fishes... hmmm

Skinny
What every woman wants to be. This tends to be difficult as most every woman also loves chocolate. Sometimes I look through the window at the mall at the chocolate, but I don't think this is it.

This is someone who is cheap; probably too cheap to spend money on tech stuff.

As I understand it, this means you have pissed me off. Or you could have a bad case of chiggars. Do chiggars use computerey stuff?

Skin Flick
These are the movies in the back room of the video store. Teenage boys like to sneak peeks - oh wait, make that male homo sapiens. Not usually very techinical, but do sometimes involve interesting equipment.

Potato Skins
Hubband makes these; the kids love them. They can be an entire meal at our house. Sometimes the kids are playing Nintendo type games, could these be involved?

This is something that creepy guys do to cheat people out of money. Zoomba doesn't look like a creepy guy - if that really is his picture...

Skin out
Stupid drivers do this to get the attention of silly girls who think that some one making a lot of noise with their car tires is cool. The tire companies really like it because the stupid drivers have to buy lots of tires. Techie?? Don't think so.

Bottom Line
I hope that Zoomba is thick skinned as my IPhone vote goes to Cior with her great kid list. Kids? I know. I can relate to everything on her list. And I'm tryin to get this tech stuff figured out - you know; old dog - new tricks...

Windows Skinning is changing all the graphical bits of the Windows GUI to make it look entirely different. You can make your Windows PC look just like a Mac for example.

Ummm...what's GUI and why would I want my PC to look like a MAC? When I was little my mom put a fabric cover over the toaster so it wouldn't look like a toaster. Is it the same idea?
GUI = Graphical User Interface. Basically, all the images you see on your screen (start menu, window borders, buttons, message boxes etc).
When you "skin" windows, does it skin away all the viruses and crashes?
