Introduction
Digg founder, and Apple fanatic Kevin Rose has launched his 'side project', Pownce. What is it? well... it's similar to an IM tool, with a pinch of social networking, with the focus on sharing files, links and messages between friends. I was fortunate to get my hands on an invite this weekend just gone, so here, in list form, is my opinion after the first few days.
Could Pownce make it into favourites list within 6-12 months? Could it be, after say... 5 years, be one of the most important sites on the Internet? If not Pownce, who? Which of the 2.0 generation is going to be huge come 2010? I start the discussion this week on 'the lump'

With friends like you...
Okay, the main focus on this project was to share 'stuff' between friends; already I have 14 friends, only 1 of which I actually knew existed before today, and that's only because I sent one of my invites to him. So it's taken the 'MySpace friends' route, where people who don't know you, add you. Fair enough, I know I could have just clicked 'no' on the friends request, but then I wouldnt be able to test it to the full.
Twitter / Facebook vibes
Every time you send a file or a link, it's added to your running list of activities that anyone can view; likewise, it's easy to see the public feeds of other users and the private items posted by your friends, which has a very Twitter / Facebook feel to it.
The Desktop Application is...
Confusing. I have downloaded the application, and the software that the application runs on. Yet I just can't seem to get it running. It doesn't seem to like my laptop, or indeed me.
The head developer is HOT

Leah. Woah, I'd like to Pownce on her *add rolly eyes icon now*
The Digg Community hate it...
Backlash City. But then again they also hate the comment system, and the iPhone. cant please them all.
Widgits already?
It's already had a Facebook widgit constructed, and it runs on the last thing you typed, or shared. It needs work, IMO.
