Introduction

Over the years there have been very few successful left-handed quarterbacks. Some of it probably has to do with football coaches being more familiar with right-handed quarterbacks, and some of it has to do with left-handed throwers being more inclined to become pitchers. However, there have been some left-handed quarterbacks that have done quite well in the NFL.

1

Steve Young

Steve Young starts us off by virute of being the only Hall of Fame left-handed quarterback. He also was selected to 7 pro bowls. Some of his career passing stats are: 33,124 yards, 232 TD's, 107 INT's and 64.3% completion percentage. Overall, Young is probably the most successful left-handed quarterback to play in the NFL.

Chris Simms

Simms is a relatively new left-handed NFL quarterback, and his recent injury problems have hampered his statistics. Hopefully he'll be able to battle back, and improve on his numbers. His stats so far are: 3,087 yards, 12 TD's, 17 INT's and 59.1% completion percentage.

Michael Vick

Vick drops to the bottom of the list due to his involvement with dog fighting, and his indefinite suspension from the NFL. He's had moderate success as a left-handed quarterback, and has been selected to 3 pro bowls. However, it appears that any chance to improve on these numbers might be gone. His career stats are: 11,505 yards, 71 TD's, 52 INT's and 53.8% completion percentage.
