Introduction

If gambling on sports were legal, these are the teams I would bet on. Let's see how I do over the year. Each week I am going to give myself up to a $1000 in funny money and distribute it on straight football bets. No parlays, teasers, prop bets. Just teams and totals.

(I wanted to get this first pick out there before the Thursday game. More picks on Friday)

New Orleans Saints +6.5 $100

I remember how bad the Colts D was early last year and they lost a bunch of starters for this season. They couldn't stop the run to save their lives. That is until KC rolled in for the first round of the playoffs and got their ass handed to them.

Colts may win but it will be close.

Michigan -7 $300

I like the Wolverines to come out and let a weeks worth of embarrassment and frustration out on the Ducks. I think Michigan has got too many studs to lose again and the only way to get right is to demolish someone else.

We'll see...

Raiders -2 $300

Their defense will stifle the lions. Another team looking to get right after an awful year. Getting rid of Art Shell has to be worth 2-3 wins itself. Warren Sapp wreaks havok all day in this one.

SF/Arizona over 45 $300

Shootout in the bay. Arizona is a great team for fantasy numbers cause they're always playing catch-up and they have stud receivers in Fitzgerald and Boldin.
