Introduction

I am surprised that "i was drunk" didn't make it higher among college students but it did make the top 50. Also its slightly more important for girls to have a better face than body. Something I've pondered many nights.

The skinny:

According to a study done by University of Texas researchers Cindy Meston and David Buss concluded that these are the top 50 reasons men have sex. The participants were given 237 reasons and asked to indicate how often those reasons came into play by marking either: none of my sexual experiences (1), a few of my sexual experiences (2), some of my sexual experiences (3), many of my sexual experiences (4) all of my sexual experiences (5)

I've indicated the mean score after each reason.

There were 503 men and 1046 women.

I was attracted to the person 3.89

I wanted to expereince the physicla pleasure 3.75

A lot of these reasons seem redundant, and the list repeats it's self. Of course, if you've ever dated a Texas girl, you know you will need at least 237 arguments to get laid; and when they are done, they throw their left fist in the air and go WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! What's that about.

yeah, so what's the difference between #6 & #7? researchers don't know what they're doing.

The recipients were given 237 different reasons and asked to rate from 1 to 5. It appears that although some choices are very similar they yield statistically different results. For example, although similar, "experience physical pleasure" outranked "experience pure pleasure" by a full point. A pretty big discrepancy.
