things people call me at work

This is my name. Among the names to follow, it is my favorite.

I have never been one of those people. I live in the South and am accustomed to it, but I only get my hackles up when someone younger than I does this to me. It's just strange. I get this mostly from women.

I get this mainly from older, white men. I am sure that it is probably so ingrained in their everyday speech that they just don't realize I am quietly gnashing my teeth.

fairly self- explanatory. Annoying but understandable given in the type of society we live in.

this drives me nuts. There is no excuse for it and I know one day I will get fired for screaming at some mental coot who snaps his fingers at me to come help him login to his Yahoo account.

It happens. It does effectively get my attention though, not in the way they expect. That is when you call security.

I don't know why people think it is cute, but it annoys me. I am just not an "ie" type of person. Only my grandmother and my friend Alexander can get away with it.

it is a scary day when you achieve this ranking among children.

to be fair, I only got this once; and he was drunk off his ass and he was in the process of inviting/asking me to "wrestle" him. I didn't know who to call first Dr. Phil or the security guard. I never found out whether he meant it in an "Over the Top" way or a "World According to Garp" way. Sad, really.
