Things That Confuse Me...

Introduction

Although primarily spent behind a desk, my days are filled with wonderment. The following things confuse and delight me regularly:

1

Is it appropriate to head for an office restroom with a newspaper not so discreetly tucked under your arm?

I think not, but I'm open to discussion.
2

If you post bulletins on myspace, does that automatically mean you're completely self-obsessed?

Because sometimes I really am just bored.
3

What's going on with dogs in strollers?

Are those of us with walking dogs asking too much?
4

When you go to the restroom and come out with wet hair, what exactly happened?

I've never personally had this issue, but I see it often...seriously, is it a mid-day wash? An office bully I'm unaware of giving swirlies to unsuspecting restroom users? A frequent toilet bowl accident? I'm at a loss.

What is a man that looks like Jesus, a 1970s limo and a motorized wheelchair doing on the side of I-70?

Ok, so this only happened once, but it. was. awesome.
6

Why is Shar Jackson on my TV on Monday nights?

Before K. Fed got famous by association, I had no idea who she was. Does she have Britney to thank for her "Ex-Wives Club" gig? And if so, do you think she sent her a note? And does anyone else even know about the "Ex-Wives Club" show? If not, disregard and forget I ever mentioned it.

What is the appropriate amount of time to let something that's not yours sit in the fridge before you eat it?

Because my roomate has these ice cream sandwiches that haven't been touched for DAYS...does she know they're there? Would she miss one if it was gone?
8

What is the appropriate work/slack ratio?

Because I'm pretty sure I'm tipping the scale towards inappropriate as I write this...

man, that dog stroller thing is nuts. every so often i'll nearly run into a lady pushing a stroller through a store and look down to see if the child i've nearly taken out is OK and it's just two fluffy little terriers in the stroller staring up at me.

i'm fairly certain that dog stroller ladies are on the same page as crazy cat ladies, socially.

i say it ok to take some reading material. I mean the only reason its not OK is the big charade that everyone plays of pretending the deuce doesn't happen. I think its time we get it out in the open and multitask. Take the office to the throne.

It beats printing something out, folding it up, and slipping it into your pocket while no one is looking. There are enough trees harmed by the process as it is.

i've been so confused by the shar jackson thing too.

and "sell by" dates on food confuse me. does that literally mean it's okay to eat for a few days after the "sell by" date? realistically, you're not going to eat it the day you buy it. i kind of feel like it's really an "eat by" date, and it's at risk of going bad. hmmm...
