Introduction
Buying a home is supposed to be great right? WRONG.
1
Agents
Buyers' agents, sellers' agents... it's like a game of telephone. And the best part is none of them actually know what they're talking about anyway!
2
Lenders
We'll need to see that you have enough for the exorbinant down payment as well as twice as much as it takes to cover closing costs, and an additional 17 years salary.
3
Condo Associations
Yes we realize what you are willing to pay for 753 square feet... but you can't have a dog. Sure I live 4 floors up and 6 units over, but I'd just rather you didn't have a dog.
4
Yards
If you don't buy a condo then you have to have a yard. Then your life revolves around the yard... if you ever hear me saying "boy, we sure could use rain," please put me out of my misery.
5
Looking at Crap
Sure, it only has one closet in the entire place, smells terrible, and is a garden level- but isn't it charming!
6
Input from others
Everything happens for a reason! You'll find someplace great! Uh huh. Sure. We have one square mile to work with and a month and a half until our lease is up.

remind me never to give you advice again! Besides, you squared it away with your original email "who wants to live with people who don't like dogs anyway right?"

Poor baby. Count your blessings; the people in China eat their dogs.

That must be a hard choice - your pet or the condo

I think you might want to evaluate the market where you currently live. It is the most expensive housing market in the country. Things in the middle are mighty affordable.

But then I'd have to live in the middle... I'll take my 750 sq. feet any day of the week over the sprawling palace I could have in Olathe, Kansas.... where I grew up.
