Introduction
You know the kid that everybody picked on? That was me. Here are some of the worst offenders.
1
Chris Carlson
The Original Bully. Starting in Kindergarten, he began teasing me in class and on the playground, and somehow it stuck. From that moment on, I was everybody's target.
2
Brent Buchanan
Chris was garden-variety mean, but Brent had a serious sadistic streak. If there was a girl I liked, he'd say terrible things about her instead of teasing me directly. What a bastard!
3
Paul Thomas
The first two were wrong-side-of-the-tracks tough guys. Paul was clean-cut, popular, and a total jerk. My solace was being good at schoolwork, and every time Paul scored better than me on a test, he made sure everyone knew about it. Also, because he was so popular, everyone followed his lead.
4
Richie Berry
He was a year ahead of me, and held Paul's place as "Head of the Class" in his year. He mostly tormented me on the bus.
5
Mr. Patzer
As if the other kids weren't bad enough, my third-grade teacher was a bully, too. He played favorites and made no attempt to hide it, and he would actually physically hurt kids who were acting up. Monster!
ever seen the movie Flatliners with Julia Roberts and Jack Bauer, ahhh I mean Kiefer Sutherland?

There's an older movie, Angus, that deals with this and the end is great. I was you, only with girls. They are crueler.

I recall long ago...the neighborhood muscle-y, athletic bully challenged my 70-lb, fuzzy-eyed brother to a fight. I ran home to tell mom. She wasn't there. So, I returned to to the bus stop to hold hold my brother's glasses and to claim his body.
It was a brief struggle. My brother belly-punched the bully and the big bad boy began to cry! My brother reclaimed his glasses and went home.
For several days after, the bully delivered the newspaper to our doorstep!
Many years later, I see the desperate childhood of the tough guy. Bullies are by far our most pathetic creatures.
