Introduction
I have been here for 7 weeks, have 2 more to go before returning to florida...
1
Everything is EXPENSIVVVE!
A casual dining experience, with mediocre food, and no alcohol, can run $25/plate. Multiply that times 1.5/day (average) and you get ~$2300 for 9 weeks. That is about the same as my rent. So a summer in NYC....about ~4600 sans shopping or any pleasure purchases.

I live on the 2nd floor above a very BUSY street
The words "...at all hours of the night" is so NOT an understatement. There is a popular bar/restaurant across the street, so there are always taxis honking and drunken sluts screaming. Not to mention the two firestations that are a block in either direction. Oh, and the garbage truck likes our street a lot, for some reason...
3
There is always a delay
Never think you can get anywhere relatively far (1 mile +) in less than 30 mins during the morning rush hour, lunch, or evening rush hour. Being on a schedule is a killer!

You have to be 21
for the most part, the nightlife in NY revolves around alcohol, so being 21 helps a lot. OR, having a fake ID. Neither of which i have (in FL its less of an issue, moreso just for clubs...)
5
Did I mention loud?>
I can barely hear an in-person conversation (when in a busy area), much less a person I am talking to on the phone (when in a busy area).

Walking is the easiest way to judge IQ
So we drive on the right...it would make sense, and be more organized...if we WALKED on the right. Somehow that doesn't quite enter the minds of New Yorkers, and they just walk wherever they can, making for an obstacle course when trying to get from place to place on foot. And what is it with bicycles on the F-ing sidewalk!?! That's what the street is for!
7
Oh Yes, and at any moment, the sidewalk could explode
I think this is self-explanatory.
8
Subway Flooding, what!?
again, self-explanatory.
