Introduction

Ok.... here it is folks. I'll do another for the Republican party after this, but I think it's very important (especially for the young generation) to seriously debate the current issues and political events that will not only shape our country for the next 4-8 years... but will determine our future landscape and position in the world and those of our children. Yes... afterall, politicians do have a lot of power. It's each and every one of us that grants them legitimacy to run this country (despite how unqualified or incompetent one might be).

It's funny how everyone's fighting for Bush's job while he made it look so easy to run for re-election.

Okay.. on the one side, we have Senator Hillary Clinton, who if elected, would be our first woman president of the United States. On the other, Barak Obama (no, not Osama Bin Laden) who would become our first U.S. president with African descent.

Please, debate!

Who should the Democratic party nominate at its primary election for candidate? Hillary or Obama?

You decide. Share your thoughts.

Either would be fine.

For myself... I think either of the two top candidates for the Democratic Party would make a finer President than Bush (although I do feel deeply that Cheney and the other old Republican cronies from previous administrations are running the government with Bush as the "poster" boy). Just my thoughts, of course.

Here is one simple line of reasoning: our country is at a point where we need to rally together. Partisian politics needs to be diminished. Of the two, merit aside, I think Hillary is too divisive of a figure to make that happen. Obama.

Yes, I agree Noah. Hillary is too much of a polar figure. either you love or hate her. And many would prefer her husband running the country again. Obama, on the other hand, is a very good orator and brings with him fresh views and ways to run the government. Indeed, something that America really needs. And yes, we should set aside partisan politics and elect our next president based on the ideas and vision they present to us, as well as choosing the best form of execution of those ideas through the plans they submit. We need solutions, not just finger-pointing.

I would love to See Romney running against Obama and listening to their debates.

But of course, America doesn't always reason as such. Hence, President Bush.

I pick Edwards.... $1200 haircut and all...

Edwards for me....I trust him.....for now. The cost of his haircut concerns me a little. WOW! Who pays $1200 dollars for a haircut. What could they possibly do that would cost $1200 dollars? I wonder what Hillary pays? Anyway, I question if the elections will be a replay of unfair , corrupt voting machines.

Yeah all we need is a slick Trial Lawyer with a Bad haircut ruining the country. What fucktard he is. He can't take a stand on anything becuase it might lose him votes in the base. I will vote for anyone NOT Demoncratic or Republicant.

Did ya see the debate the other night? Hillary made Obama look like a child.

Say what you want, think what you want; Hillary Clinton will be the next President of the United States, and she will win in a landslide. It will be the largest turnout in history, and 20 million women who have never voted before will vote for Hillary.

In 2000, the polls said the New York senate race was too close to call. They said Hillary would carry New York City, but she was hated upstate, so they would cancel each other out, and it would be close.

Hillary won in a landslide, and was the first Democrat in decades to carry every upstate county. She was reelected by a two to one margin in 2006. Get used to it.

What I find so troublesome is that Hillary and Guiliani are so polarizing. So many Americans hated George W Bush before he ever raised his hand to take the oath because of the 2000 election. He didn't have a chance with a lot of die hard liberals - they were going to hate him no matter what. And the same can be said, especially for Hillary. I liked Ol' Hippie's reference to the John Wayne quote re: JFK. But so many people don't feel that way. As much as the liberals hate Bush, the conservatives will hate Hillary. There will continue to be infighting with nothing getting done. I realized that there will never be anybody that everybody likes, but it would be nice to have someone that half of the country doesn't despise.

Does it really matter that much? They are all liers! And ask yourself has there ever been a president that everyone has liked the whole time he was in office? Uh NO! Everyones too harsh on Bush..being president is a hard job and I think if half the people that bash Bush all the time got into office they would do just as bad as he has! Bush has made alot of shity moves but Hello it is not just the president running this country! I don't even vote because I just think it is a waste of time!

Well Princess, if you don't vote, you don't get to bitch. I know how you feel, but you are too young to give up. If you don't like the choices, find someone you do like and help them get elected to the City Council (I suggest Pam).

If 10,000 more votes had been counted for Gore in 2000, 9/11 would never have happened, we wouldn't be in Iraq, and we would still have budget surplusses.

Please don't listen to the people saying Hillary is too polarizing (I repeat, she won re-election in 2006 by a 2 to 1 margin) listen to what she says, take some time and see how she voted on issues important to YOU. We need young people involved in the process, but we need them to do their homework, and not just buy into the sound bites of either side, citizenship is hard work, but compare this country, warts and all to any other; it is worth the effort.

I was against George Bush before he ever ran, not because he was a Republican, but because I had been reading about him since he first ran for congress in 1978. He has no apparent core values, and no conscience, but pretends to be pious to get votes (read What's the Matter With Kansas). Yes, it is tough being President, I want the smartest, cleverest person in the country to have the job. That ain't George.
