Introduction

i have to start this with a disclaimer that YES my mother told me so. but i wasn't listening.

and it's not too late.

wear sunscreen

looking tan was far more important than thinking about wrinkles and sun spots. i somehow thought i was immune to it all.

take lessons

i did not practice the piano enough, i dreaded lessons, i kicked and screamed when i was signed up for voice lessons and guitar lessons. what was i THINKING? i could've been the next female flea.

credit cards are dead evil

living way beyond my means seemed a-ok. everyone else was doing it, why couldn't i? i'd be making six figures soon anyhow. right?

they have a school for everything

i wish i would have realized that i could've gone to school for my obvious interest(s). there are so many degree programs beyond business, art, psychology, education, etc.

act

don't wait around for things to happen. make things happen. that's how i landed me a husband.

don't care so much about what other people think

what a waste of energy.

adults don't know everything

as an "adult" myself, wow, do i realize this. i always assumed adults were the end all be all of information. i should've been more active about formulating my own opinions and thoughts.

processed food

my three-dr. peppers-a-day diet was disgusting. and no more taco bell "fourthmeals".

learn, don't grade

i was so caught up in my GPA, i studied to get an A on tests rather than for the act of learning. my beautiful transcript was never viewed by one potential employer. i would have better benefited from applying what i was learning...not memorizing it for a test. i once told one of my interns to stop worrying about her grades. i hope her mother doesn't mind.

You go girl. Only 30ish and figuring all of this stuff out; I was 50ish. I will email this to Brie P, she will pay attention to you, she pays as much to me as you did to your almost perfect MOM.
