reasons i love summer

heat
bring on the heat. you know when it's 95 degrees outside, and you get into your car and then it's 135 degrees in your car? i love that.
clothes
i love whites, light fabric, not having to schlep around a jacket, flip flops.
tan
i've been tan before. this has happened to me twice.
long sunny days
6AM - 9PM full of sunshine love.
bbq's
grilling, eating outside. usually involves lots of meat. heaven.
attitudes
people are always happier in the summertime. everyone's more relaxed, going on vacation, social.
water
trips to the beach or the lake...depending on what part of the world i'm in.
foliage
flower, trees, green grass.
remembering what it was like to be a kid during summer
no school! total happiness.
smell
summer air has a distinct smell i like. i'm not sure what it is....foliage, humidity. i dig it.
critters
i love fireflies, birds, squirrels etc. and those bugs that chip at night, i like their sound.
I think summer drinks are fun: pina colada, margarita, etc. John P makes a great margarita.
oh yes! margarita's are great summertime libations. or corona's with lime. mmmm....
Ilove eating outdoors, getting a break from teaching, and company coming for a visit(especially my kids)

i almost feel like a different person in the summer - so carefree and light! i LOVE the sunshine, the smell of the grass, the sandals, the pool, the sunshine, the floaty dresses, the flowers and did i mention, the sunshine? i'm with you - give me summer anyday.
