Introduction

i've had a list of most of these names written on the flap of a duncan hinds brownie mix box for years. YAY for onmylist. now i can archive these suckers. i've lost the brownie box flap anyhow.

oh, and by the way, if i know you, i'll beat you down if you take one of these names. FOR REAL.

17

hester

this is the name of some high-society old lady. read about her in vanity fair. for some reason, i kind of like the name. i do think she might get harassed as "hester the molester".

i'm a little bit on the fence about this one.

ingrid

i'm obviously into old lady names.

So my girlfriend told me we had to name our first born son "Gunner". Should break up with her over that or do you think over time I might be able to change her mind?

I've always been partial to Lucy for some reason.

Love it! You could call your girl Charlotte (my girl name, for the record) and she'd go by Charlie or Charly. Then again, my sister's name is Fred, so clearly my family has a thing for boys names.

Kel, how come Stella moved down the list? It was #1

I have a friend whose son is named Finn...Finnegan really, but Finn for short. He is the cutest thing. Its a great name!

Please, please don't go with Edith. Edie is fine if it's just Edie or short for something else. My wicked witch of a grandmother was Edith. It will break my heart for my wonderful Kelly to be associated with an Edith.
PS - my kids are named but my daughter loves Isabelle Lorraine (Lorraine for my mom.)

2 of these names are Julia Roberts' children. (Why do I know that?) I'm pleased that at least all of these names are names. Unlike "Gunner" which was mentioned elsewhere. Gunder is close to not being a name, but since it was a name I'm down. I hate not name names. Just because you call the kid Carston doesn't make that a name.

and his Uncle's name is Gordon and he is beginning to really like this site.

greetings from North Dakota.

my best friend will be having a stella in about a month. i adore her already.

my late-kitty's name was remy (i also saw ratatouille); i'd never thought of it for a person but now that you mention it, i really like it.

and, of course, i love ellis. but i'm biased.

Ingrid is not an old lady name. Ingrid Bergman is one of the most beautiful women to hit the big screen.

This has sure been circulating around for a while. It's cool to see it keep coming back.

I'm into "Meredith" these days. Good thing I'm not into babies.

How much time do you have to decide which one to pick Kelly?! ;) Years? MONTHS??? lol

Nick: Gunner is crap!! The only Gunner that comes to mind is Gunner Nelson from the horrible shit band Nelson. Run..... as fast as you can!!!!!!!! ;)

TheRobin: She didn't go for Otto?!! DAMN!!! Great name!! My wife didn't like Maximilion Wolfgang.... my first choice for our young fella'. I feel your pain!

I don't know if I could handle 24 kids.
Head2_thumb Emoryposted 359 days ago
i like ava...so you can't add that to your list. if you do have 24 you need to get going...no pressure.

I enjoyed this list, Kelly.

Eliza is my niece's name. Reminds me of Eliza Doolittle (the name, not her).

Tallulah reminds me of Tallulah Bankhead, the sassy old redheaded actress from the 30s and 40s.

Hazel reminds me of the maid in the old sitcom. =(

There are tons of girls named Katie, Lila and Grace in my daughter's elementary school - obviously popular names.

Oliver will -- sadly -- always remind me of the kid from The Brady Bunch. He was their "jump the shark."

My daughter's name is Keaton. We saw it in a book, and we love Buster Keaton.
