Introduction
My sister is six years younger than I am. I love her. Here is why...
1
Her name is Kari Lou.
My daughter was born on her birthday. I named her "Katy Lou."
2
She was my doll.
She cried. She wet. She was like a real baby!
3
She gave me self esteem.
For a few decades, she believed everything I said!
4
She made my parents give me my own room.
When she told people "my sister has a new bra", it was enough to convince the jury to award me my own bedroom.
5
She is incredibly bright, capable and talented.
I taught her everything she knows.
6
She copied everything I did.
And then started doing it better!
7
She married a Californian.
We are nurtured by visits in their home of sunshine and ocean breeze.
8
She had three precious babies.
The tiniest is now 5 foot, 13 inches. Each day, they consume two cows, three sacks of grain and 12 gallons of milk.
9
She calls our mom on the phone every night.
"She is the good one," my mom says. It has been voted by family council she will provide nursing care as dementia overtakes each one of us.
10
We talk on the phone for hours.
...As you would do with a beloved sister.
Ahhh...I would love your sister too. Oh, wait, I have one of my own. TeeHee
