Things I Want to Be, and Why I'm Not

Introduction
There are several things I think I really want to be, and after not being them for a long time I've decided why.

Writer
It seems very revealing and exposing. (Which does not explain why I think it's okay to make these lists.)

Computer Program
I was not raised on computers. I thought of it too late. I'm afraid of it. I'm worried I'm not smart enough. Maybe this will be a hobby.

Ballerina
Very difficult. Leotard and tights... bad.

Interior Designer
Pressing deadlines, out of control budgets, high likelihood for screw-ups combined with angry clients. I love interior design, but I don't want to design what other people what, I want to do what I want. Also, seems wasteful -- throwing away a bunch of old decorating because it's out of date.

Marine Biologist
I like aquariums. I don't like research. I also don't like getting cold and wet, which I assume marine biologists do. I don't think I really want to be this. I just want to say I am at parties.

Buddhist Monk
Love the structure, robes, meditation, quiet, ritual, zendo. Don't want to give up my sinful lifestyle.

Just about every other little kid I knew answered marine biologist to this question. Me too, although I'm not 100% sure why, being we were about as land locked as you can get (Missouri)
I think there should be a new reality show that follows around a sexy marine biologist. They could even rip off the James Bond movie title, "Octopussy." I think this would work since there has to be at least 50% of the population that wanted to be a marine biologist. Combine that with reality tv + hot marine biologist + bikinis+ sharks= HUGE RATINGS! Sharkweek + Baywatch + REal World In fact, right here, right now, I claim the rights to that concept. Hollywood producers: if you want my idea you know where to find me.
