Why I'm Glad It's Finally Turning Cold

Introduction
Don't get me wrong. I hate cold weather. I'll save the reasons for a separate list, but here are a few reasons why cold is necessary, whether I like it or not. And I can guarantee you by the beginning of December, I will be doing my annual bemoaning of why cold is the most terrible thing in the universe.

Turns the Leaves
What is fall without the pretty colors of the leaves? If it never turns cold, the leaves don't turn.

Kils the Bugs
We'd have bugs year round if we didn't have the cold weather to kill 'em all off once a year.

Different Clothes
If it never got cold, we'd be wearing the same clothes year round. There's nothing like putting on your favorite pair of jeans and coziest sweatshirt for the first time every year.

Blankets
It's such a great feeling to put all the blankets on the bed and just burrow in.

Christmas
We need the cold to make snow, and need the show for Christmas.

Fireplaces
It's just not fun cozying up on the bear skin run in front a fireplace unless it's cold.

Good points. I love Fall and the cool weather! Our trees have all turned color but the damn winds have been so strong that most of the leaves are off the trees already.
