Introduction
Many touristy things as well.
Paddleboats on the Tidal Basin
Admittedly I'd find it more enjoyable if the paddleboats were shaped like something (e.g. dragons or ducks or something).
Running/biking/walking Rock Creek Park in the evening
Early evening, post dusk, but pre full on night.
Evening Monument walk
Okay, this is the MOST tourist-like, but (and I never noticed til this time last year) DC has fireflies and it's really nice to see.
Drinks at Hotel Washington deck
Okay, this ties the Monument walking as most touristy.
Outdoor eating
Restaurants or picnic/cookouts, don't really care. But I want to take advantage of the short lived great weather. (Lauriol Plaza jumps to mind first for no real reason.)
Explore
Something I've NEVER done enough of living here. Just out and walk. Go to small boutiques, small galleries, hole in the wall eats, etc.
Visit the National Zoo
Last time I went I didn't see much at all. (Granted I got there maybe 45 minutes before closing and the sun was setting pretty quickly.)
It's a nice walk from the metro to the zoo; had to go see the panda's when we were there in 1986.
