1
Spencer, Mo.
Here stands a row of old business buildings sitting silently along these forgotten hills of the southwest Ghost strip of Historic Rt. 66 in Missouri.

The Road
The Highway was built by Horse and Man. The Horses would walk in circles mixing the Concrete in a big vat. They drag the vat over to the section to pour. Dumping out the concrete and 20 or so men would smooth the concrete. NOTE: It is believed that this is the last ORIGINAL SECTION of Route 66.

The Town
Well that is the town, if you are ever in the area you might want to stop and take a look. It is hard to believe that this use to be a stop on the way to the west coast. I guess all things have their day's in the Sun. It is sad to see these old buildings just slowly dissapear into History.

Very Cool, Sam. Where abouts is Spencer? I guess I could Google map it, but I'd rather hear back from you.

Looks like the town was in the process of growing at one point. Last add-on was even taller. Probably wasn't high gas prices that slowed things down.
Cool list, thanks for sharing JHG III.
