Introduction
I am a treehugger.
Here is why.
1
Trees improve childhood.

2
They speak softly.
"husssssshhhhhhh"
3
They hold hammocks.

4
They shelter us.

5
They increase property value.

6
They inspire poets.

Joyce Kilmer. 1886–1918
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day, 5
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

But only God can make a tree.

They inspire love.

8
They are tenacious.

9
They are all-sacrificing.

10
They warm us.
11
They remind us of renewal.

12
They give us beauty.

13
They are renewable

14
They are all bark and no bite.
15
They embrace us.

16
I embrace them.

Green comes in many shades and if a treehugger you may not be, then the green below is for you to see...
Pretty good list, KB. They also keep us cool. Think:
A book of verse beneath the bough,
A loaf of bread. a jug of wine, and thou,
Beside me, singing in the wilderness,
Oh, wilderness were paradise enow.
One of my all time favorite word pictures.

Really nice list,kathybelle. They give the squirrels and birds a place to live too. Hey Ol Hippie, thanks for sharing the verse, I can see why it would be a favorite.
