2 days at the camp... it's hunting season :)

In town long enough to restock, and make a list! The only thing I am hunting tonight is case of beer.
The pictures attached are from the camp I am a member of, The Spruce Hill Lodge on Chamcook Lake.

Of course it's the #1. Don't need ice... we have 2 fridges at the camp.

Deer meat
The crew at the camp have most of the tags filled, another one dropped at 8:30 this morning, 178lb spikehorn. I know what's cooking for supper tonight. As fresh as it can get!

I gotta have at least ONE thing that doesn't have booze in it. Good for the morning after dry mouth.

Yup... we play for the big bucks. I lost my retirement fund last night... gotta do better tonight.

Our entire town is preparing for Saturday's opening day. Mom's Kitchen (local diner) will be frying, scrambling and omeleting 2,500 pre-dawn eggs over the next 11 days.
I have sent memos of warning to the local deer who greet us daily on our dirt road. I hope they were paying attention in reading class.

The Geezer took out this morning for 10 days - yay for me; yay for him; and hopefully yay for Bambi if he is the one doing the shooting. They've been working on a newish sleeping trailer for camp; they gutted a 25 year old 5th wheel, took off the paneling, lined it with insulation (the old insulation had turned to powder) and re-paneled it with chip board - lovely. Then put in 6 bunks.
I would not want to smell inside that camper first thing in the morning!
I kissed him goodbye, asked him to please not get shot and not shoot anything. He is more interested in hanging out with the guys than venison.
