Introduction

needless to say this may take a while to finish. I love LIVE MUSIC.

widespread panic

www.widespreadpanic.com

www.onmylist.com/category/music/widespread_panic_…

see my list of all widespread panic concerts I've seen above. Still can't wait to go to more

Spoon

www.spoontheband.com

Opened for Death Cab for Cutie at the Greek.

MC Hammer

Columbia. Hearns Center. Doug Smith got on stage and danced with him. Please hammer don't hurt em.

Elton John

Savvis Center (Kiel at the time) Brad, Jen and some chick who I can't remember her name. Never saw her again. I think she thought seeing Elton John was kind of weak.

Wilco

www.wilcoworld.net

A bunch of times. They rock. Best time was in a 200 person place in Paris. Riveting.

Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band

Lots of times including my 21st birthday. Makes me want to buy a washboard. "Who stole the hotsauce?"

North Mississippi All Stars

4 or 5 times. The electric washboard that Cody plays kills!!! Cody and Luther partied at my loft in SGF one time before and after a show.

ZZ Top

Memphis in May. These guys rocked. Huge sound for only three guys. Fuzzy guitars on swivels! Beards! Cheap Sunglasses!

I enjoyed these guys way more than I thought I would

Air Supply/Night Ranger

My first concert

Damien Rice

Twice. This first time was totally magical. Very small venue. I wasn't that familiar with his stuff. Kelly cried at Lisa's singing. Went with my parents, Phil and Marti.

U2

Loved how the house music before the show was all songs about elevation, going higher, etc. before they came on stage. "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" bustin out some Sly "Gonna take You Higher" Then the song "Elevation" starts playing but U2 isn't on stage yet. They walk on while the song is playing, join in progress, and the crowd loses their mind. good times.

Ben Kweller

Same small place that I saw Wilco. Super small venue. Very good show. Mr Phil was with us. Got a nice picture with Ben that I'll put up here soon.

The White Stripes

www.whitestripes.com

twice in Paris. The first time was in a relatively small venue before they were huge. Jack White completely blew me away. Second time was with Phil, Marti, and Kelly.

Stockholm Syndrome

a few times including Boston where we got to hang backstage. Also of note was that during the show some guy threw a beer on stage and was pissed cause he said they stole his name. also saw in Paris and the Dam

Rolling Stones

Saw them the first time when i was a freshman at MU. Voodoo lounge tour. Charlie Gallagher got us like 10th row from the AD Joe Castiglione. Lenny Kravitz was supposed to open but we got Blind Melon instead. Stage was too big for them. Giant snake head the blew fire was the main set piece.

Second time was in STL. Our tickets were in section 420. Worth mentioning. Bridges to Babylon tour. Pretty cool when the bridge extended from the main stage to a small stage in the center of the floor. The Stones walked on over and kicked out some classics "in the round" style.

Black Crowes

www.blackcrowes.com

Saw them at the Blue Note in Columbia. I thought they smoked but the set was only about 50 minutes. Amazing how many songs they fit it. They were great.

Arcade Fire

www.flickr.com/photos/haonusa/528456235/in/set-72…

www.arcadefire.com

At the Greek in Berkeley. Very powerful live with 10 people on stage banging away. Kind of like a gypsy troop of circus musicians. One guy got up on stage during the song "Wake Up" grabbed a mic and just started wailing with them. Nothing happened so he picked up some drum sticks. eventually he was asked to leeave. Went to the show with John Howard. A few pics above...speaking of gypsy circus...

Yard Dog's Road Show

www.yarddogsroadshow.com/

www.newbelgium.com/vibe_tourdefat_sf_07.php

These guys really are a gypsy circus. gypsy circus rock. complete with sword swallowers, belly dancers, and accordian. Cool sound though. Saw them at the Tour De Fat. These guys are REALLY cool and unique. I heard they did 10 shows at Bonaroo this year!!!

TV on the Radio

Fillmore with Kelly. These guys are unbelievably cool live. Became a big fan that night.

Ryan Adams

Paris. Amazing show. Moments of the audience hanging on every single whisper and then some all out rocking. Ryan was drinking a bottle of wine throughout the show..straight out of bottle. lovely.

Pearl Jam

www.pearljam.com

in St Louis twice. Once when I was in college. Went with Boulware, Gallagher and someone else. Also saw them in San Francisco. Always great.

Ben Harper

Once opening for Widespread Panic at Summerfest in Milwaukee and then at a late show in New Orleans during Jazzfest. Smokin.

Jack Johnson

Super small club in Paris. Actually got to talk to him afterwards cause he just hopped right off the front of the stage when he was finished.

Prince

Paris. Good as advertised. The little man can straight kill it and with a savoire faire that few people posses.

Radiohead

Once in Paris and once in Nimes, France at an old bull fighting arena on Bastille Day. That one took the cake and might be top 10 ever for me.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

www.redhotchilpeppers.com

Stade de France in Paris. Flea came out for the encore walking across the stage on his hands. kick ass.

Allman Brothers

www.allmanbrothers.com

Kansas City, MO. Great show. Boulware and Dougles rode back to Columbia in the back on Cook's jeep with the top down and froze their asses off.

Rusted Root

Kansas City, MO

Phish

www.phish.com

Kansas City with Gallagher. video game drive back to Columiba. Jason Green wearing the most flourescent shirt I've ever seen. We could track him wandering through the auditorium all night. Seriously.

Pixies

Opened for Chili Peppers in Paris. They were OK. That stadium was way too big for them.

Smashing Pumpkins

University Plaza ball room in Springfield, MO. High School. Billy Corrigan mocked the crowd. "Crowd surfing's pretty cool here huh. What, did you guys see that on MTV or something."

Toad the Wet Sprocket

REM

Kings of Leon

First time opened for the Strokes in Paris. Blew my mind.

Second time in STL at Missippi Nights, got to hang on their tour bus while they hit on my wife and sister in law. Worth it.

Third time was in LA. No tour bus but great show.

The Features

Wish these guys would get on the road again.

Robert Randolph and the Family Band

Got to hang backstage with RR. Tequila shots. La Boule Noir in Paris.

RR knows how to get a crowd movin.

The Strokes

My Morning Jacket

M Ward

Fillmore with John Cowles. Didn't have a ticket and couldn't get one outside. Decided to just get some pizza and go home. As I'm coming out the pizza joint, a guy says anyone need a ticket? I gave my pie to some homeless guy and went to the show.

Social Distortion

blue note.

Maxwell

Third row seats in KC. used to love Max but hardly ever listen to him anymore.

Alicia Keys

The Racontuers

Ray LaMontagne

Saw in Oakland. Not great. Seemed uncomfortable in the big theater. Sound problems.

Sigur Ros

Saw them in Boston and hadn't really heard them before. Just went to the concert. They played the first song with this sheer screen in front of them so all you saw were these big shadows. Trippy and cool.

The Shins

Silversun Pickups

Couldn't figure out if the guy or girl sang Lazy Eye. Thought for sure it was going to be the girl. It isn't. They were fantastic.

Vic Chesnutt

www.vicchesnutt.com

Got to hang with Vic backstage for a bit. He's a really nice guy, a great songwriter, and an all over unique musician with a sound all his own. Vic used my phone to call his wife.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Got to sing a line of a song as I was in the front row. Got the mic put in my face by Karen O. 2003 I think.

First of all, its Chubby Carrier. He used to be a Lake regular.
Second of all, I thought Snoop was good! Could have been cause I was totally wasted and because I love rap music. You're right though, they are never that good live. But I still love it!
AND we were at the same Stones concert in Stl. Wish I would have known that!

Toad the wet sprocket!!! Wow, I'd love to see them. Were they good? Johny Cash! Double wow. Wanted to see Prince this summer but he cancelled the gig, that was only three days away. Needless to say I was NOT a happy puppy. :)
