Introduction
Let's face it. Too many videos follow formula. If I see one more rap video about a guy flashing "bling", I'm gonna puke. Luckily, there is still imagination on MTV, as these videos show:
NOTE- If you know any more that should be on this list, let me know. I'll check it out.
Fatboy Slim - Weapon of Choice
Did you ever imagine Christopher Walken doing this?
Phil Collins - Don't Lose My Number
This is metaphysical; this is a video about deciding on the concept for the video.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Don't Come Around Here No More
A twisted version of "Alice in Wonderland". To this day, one of the most unique videos of all time!
Van Halen - Right Now
Mostly text and subliminal messages. Simple but effective.
Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity
Almost this entire video was improvised from the base concept of a bunker with a moving floor. (Actually, the floor is staying still; the walls are moving.)
OK Go - Here It Goes Again
The four band members on treadmills. Simply unique!
Beastie Boys - Intergalactic
Rap does "Power Rangers"... it doesn't get weirder than that!
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop
Mimicking an artist's sculptures adds quite a bit of class to this one-of-a-kind video.
Weezer - Buddy Holly
Transplanting the band into "Happy Days". I can't think of anything like it.
a-Ha - Take On Me
Before "Roger Rabbit", this was the greatest fusing on live-action and animation I had ever seen.
koRn - Freak on a Leash
From the animé to the bullet follow, this video has some of the most original imagery I had ever seen.
Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
The most original and impressive use of stop-motion and claymation ever used in a video.
The White Stripes - The Hardest Button to Button
Interesting idea involving stop-motion, the performers, Central Park in New York, and... how many drum kits???
Garbage - Stupid Girl
Defacing the film with steel wool and bleach was never attempted before Garbage came along, and, let's face it, how many groups did it afterward?
Some good choices. Christopher Walken was cool before that video, but now he's untouchably cool!!
And, the OK Go! video is really well done. It's simple, yet no one ever forgets it.

Great list. Of course I love the Ok Go video. Who doesn't love it? It's such a coincidence today I actually heard Right Now on the radio. Cheesy but strangely motivational : ) "There's no tomorrow!
