Introduction
I am not a music person. I can't sing or play anything. I don't listen in the car or house; so most of the music lists are beyond me.
That said; I do get random songs that just drift into my head for a day or two, then I sing them around the office or the house - quietly.
The list is pretty eclectic; kind of like me. And yes, my co-workers just shake their heads and mutter about me.
If I Were a Carpenter...
Done by several performers, my favorite is Bob Dylan
Lay Lady Lay, Lay across my big brass bed...
One of my all time favorite songs!
Up from the Grave He Arose...
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!
When this one enters my head; my day goes better.
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!
When this one enters my head; my day goes better.
Back to School from Billy Madison
Just for fun.
You're a Grand Ol' Flag...
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

My Favorite Things
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens;
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens;
Brown paper packages tied up with strings;
These are a few of my favorite things.
One of the only songs from a musical I know all of the words to.

Jesus Christ, Superstar
Do you think you're what they say you are?
I bought this album when it first came out, then the 8 track and now have the CD.
Doesn't get much better than Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Roger Ramjet cartoon theme
It's good to have a hero!
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Lots of fa la la la la's
Easy to remember.
Easy to remember.
We are the Titans
the mighty, mighty Titans.
Every where we go, people want to know...
More of a cheer, but fun.

Ob-la-di ob-la-da
Desmond has a barrow in the market place,
Molly is the singer in a band,
Desmond says to Molly-girl I like your face,
And Molly says this as she takes him by the hand.
Ob-la-di ob-la-da life goes on there,
Lala how the life goes on,
Obladi oblada life goes on there,
Lalala how life goes on.
Desmond takes a trolly to the jewellers store,
Buys a twenty carat golden ring,
Takes it back to Molly waiting at the door,
And as he gives it to her she begins to sing.
Ob-la-di ob-la-da life goes on there,
Lala how the life goes on,
Ob-la-di ob-la-da life goes on there,
Lala how the life goes on.
In a couple of years they have built,
A home sweet home,
With a couple of kids running in the yard,
Of Desmond and Molly Jones.
Happy ever after in the market place,
Desmond lets the children lend a hand,
Molly stays at home and does her pretty face,
And in the evening she's a singer with the band.
Ob-la-di ob-la-da life goes on there,
Lala how the life goes on,

You know...
Trailers for sale or rent; rooms to let 50 cents...
Nice, catchy tune.

Heigh-Ho
It's home from work we go.
This one is easy because it's mostly heigh-hos;
as opposed to hos who are high like the rap music talks about today.

Not The End
I'll add more as I think of them.

Well, Billy Madison and Roger Ramjet I don't know, but I recognized all the rest. I love Ob-la-di ob-la-da and you can't go wrong with anything from Sound of Music and Jesus Christ Superstar! You get 5 stars from me for this one. :-)

Very fun list, Pam. I have never been musically inclined toward using correct lyrics which has not stopped me from singing "a few of my favorite things" on "oh, what a beautiful morning!"

How about "OML - The Musical" with the flaming oven incorporated into the last act.
Or, at least, a theme song.
Or, at least, a theme song.
