Introduction
Guess I'm in a kind of alt country autumnal mood. What I'm listening to especially often this week
1
The National
Just started getting into them after all the good year-end buzz surrounding their album The Boxer. Great mood album. Unfolds nicely after multiple listens.
2
Beirut
Middle Eastern vagabond gypsy alternative music...or something like that.
3
Oxford Collapse
Love the song "Please Visit Your National Parks"
4
Band Of Horses
They can do a soaring anthemic southern rock guitar thing and also slow it down to a bittersweet indie love song. Songs I particularly like "Funeral," "Great Salt Lake," and "St. Augustine"
5
The Jayhawks
6
Son Volt
An oldie but I'm back on a Son Volt kick.
7
Bright Eyes
His voice may not be for everyone but his songwriting is as evocative as any, if a little alienated and somber. A more incisive songwriter/storyteller you will not find. I like the song "At the bottom of everything"
Thanks for the tip! I'll check these out.
