Introduction
I love music! I love all kinds of music! I've always loved music. Mrs. Hippie and I used to put on the Clockwork Orange Soundtrack on Saturday mornings, and clean our little house on the Plaza.....in about 42 minutes.
I particularly love girl singers. I'll put them in order, but I love them all so it's not carved in stone..
20. Amy Lee
This Evanescence singer songwriter has the voice of an angel. She can also rock it pretty good, but I like her softer side.
19. Stevie Nix
No particular period, I still like her.
18. Ella Fitzgerald
From my mid sixties jazz period.
17 Joni Mitchell
From my early - mid seventies hippie period.
16. Cher
Pops up every 10 years or so. I've always liked the timbre of her voice. Nobody else could get away with her song choices.
15. Barbara Streisand
A little full of herself, but the woman can sing.
14. Carole King
Ol and Mrs. hippie Istened to Tapestry every day for a year or so
13. Joan Baez

From my early sixties Folk period. Beautiful voice. I saw her at a Checkerboard Square coffee house in 1964.
12. Edith Piaf
I loved Edith Piaf for a while in the early sixties, after my first trip to Paris. She worked very well when I was hunting in the College of Fine Arts at KU.
Very sexy, and tragic quality to her voice.

11. Sheryl Crow
I like her a lot.
10. Cyndi Lauper
Very strange woman, but I still listen to her stuff.
9. Madonna
What can I say? This looney toon can sing her ass off.
8. Janis Joplin
I saw Janis at Memorial Hall in Kansas City Kansas on August 29, 1970. I was on the second row. Actually traded her a toke off my blunt for a swig of her Southern Comfort. Six weeks later she was dead.
A sad little girl who could sing like no one else.

7. Sarah McLachlan
One of my current favorites.
6. Etta James
At Last. Say no more.
5. Aretha Franklin
One of a kind.
This clip from The Blues Brothers was my favorite part of the movie.

4. Judy Collins
Saw her recently with the Smothers Brothers. I still love her voice.
3. Bonnie Raitt
Great gravelly voice, and plays a little guitar.
2. Faith Hill
Hummana hummana hummana. I love this woman, she is on all of my lists.
1. Christina Aguilerra
A voice like hers is a once in a generation deal. She can sing anything.
