Introduction
Last weekend me and my girlfriend spent a saturday watching back to back vampire flicks and I started thinking about all the best ones ive seen since my childhood......so begins my 1st list.
1
1. Interview with a Vampire
From start to finish....this film was definitely fresh. I thought everyone in the film did a terrific
job and the costumes and designs were great. I heard Rice was opposed to Tom Cruise
playing Lestat but he did a great job at the end and im sure she took back her critique.

2. Bram Stokers Dracula
I remember renting this a year after it came out, it was definitely like no other vampire flick I had seen up till that point. The cinematography was beautifull and most of the characters were very well acted. It also had a great score and the storyline, though already done a million times, turned out good nonetheless. If ever you feel any sympathy for a vampire, this may be the movie for that.

3. The Lost Boys
Ahhhh, childhood memories. For any kid growing up in the 80's, this is a definitive classic horror/comedy. It had the two Coreys, and a scary as hell, pre 24, Keifer Sutherland who always looked terrifying even without the make-up. Nice opening song and score, great flick overalll, even if you don't liek vamp movies.

4
Blade1/2
Blade brought back the vampire genre with a vengeance back in 98, and repeated the success in 02, and thought I didn't like much about trinity aside from Jessica Beils hotness, the 1st two films more then make up for it. Great comic adaptation(although the comic hero is sooo very different) and great action sequences and effects lacking in most vamp flicks. A new twist to an old genre.

5. Fright Night
Yet another horror/comedy from teh 80's that delivers. I remember watching this one when I was only about 7 years old...my aunt and uncle took me in thinking it would be all good....man were they wrong. Might seem campy at times but it's definitely a great mix of vampire chills and bloodsucking fun.

6
Innocent Blood
I honestly only rented this for the hot chick in it, but it actually turned out to be a pretty damn good vampire flick overall. Some nice humor and a good enough story to keep you entertained till the end.
7
Vampire Hunter D
Now I know most average movie veiwers wouldn't give an animated vampire flick a chance, let alone a live action one, but this is definitely the best of both worlds.
8
Near Dark
Most vampire fans would stake me for putting this so low on the list, but it's my list and dammit...that's all that matters. This is definitely a cult classic from the 80's, and though it might not be as remembered as say Lost Boys which was released in the same year, it was definitely another gem from that time long ago.
9
Underworld
Yet another new twist to a very old but seemingly strong genre, never willing to die quiet. Vampires vs. Werewolves.....been waiting for this since the old school Dracula vs. The Wolfman. Added bonus....hot vamp chick in tight leather moving oh so gracefully throughout the screen, whats not to enjoy?
10
Vampires
It was between this and Dusk till dawn for the not so coveted 10th spot, so I chose this. Though a lot of people actually enjoyed this movie and would have this higher....I thought it was just "good enough" simply cause of the action sequences I suppose, and cause it's John Carpenter after all. Good movie, could have been better, but it could have been worse......and so concludes my 1st list!
