Introduction
When I watch a movie, I don't want to see explosions and heavy artillery. I'm not there to be scared out of my wits, and I don't want to see blood and gore. I get plenty of all of those things just by watching the evening news. I don't need any added stress in my life.
No, when I watch a movie, I want to laugh; I want to hear great music; I want to be entertained; or I want to fall in love. Yes, I will be the first to admit it, I'm the person for whom they keep making all those "chic flicks" (as husband and sons call them). Give me comedy. Give me romance. Give me a musical. Give me a good story. With that in mind, if you wish to read on, these are a few of my favorite movies, in no particular order.

I love the Four Weddings & Love Actually also. Good choices.
I prefer mindless movie matter.
Have you seen Pride and Prejudice? Sense and Sensibility? Jane Eyre? Loved those.
Second, GD, one of my new favorite chick flicks is The Holiday and my new very favorite is The Illusionist.
