why i wish it was fall...

i just like them more. everything from casual and dress attire, to camping and outdoor wear.

not a big fan of mosquitos, chiggers and ticks. after the first good cold snap, most die off or slow down a lot. makes outdoor life much more pleasant.

with no bugs, comes more camping and hiking. plus, it's much nicer at night, bundled up by a campfire. it's like caveman tv, only it promotes thought instead of derailing it.

wineries are much more fun in the fall. there's something about sitting on a patio, a slight cool breeze kicking, a block of good cheese with water crackers on the table, maybe some dark chocolate and just chilling with a good dry red wine in hand.

this year, i'd like to do a trip along some of the missouri wine country, by bicycle, on the katy trail. it's one of the longest rails-to-trails projects in the country and is dotted with too many wineries to list.

i like taking my dog to the park on cool fall days. with the advent of cool weather, my aging yellow labrador retriever tends to play a little longer and it reminds me of when she was years younger. plus, it's good to just sit reading a book, with nothing to bother you but an occasional leaf or twig landing on your page, falling from the tree you're sitting under.

it's nice to be able to hit the road or trail a couple times a week, without having to sweat your ass off. i've been a wuss this summer. my bikes haven't seen a lot of action, i'm looking forward to cooler weather.

picnics are better in fall. taking in the breeze and sneaking wine out to the park in paper cups, so you don't get popped for an open container.
