Introduction
just some music that i often find myself singing in the car, even if i haven't played or heard it in days.
1
rehab - amy winehouse
2
lemon grove avenue - mason jennings
3
can't help falling in love - elvis
i was apparently singing this one at amp level 11, very drunk in my kitchen, on my wedding night, back in november. i end up singing it nearly everytime i get drunk, since. even the instrumental parts. (wee-oo...)
4
easy plateau - ryan adams
it's my cell phone ring tone
5
mr. rabbit - paul westerberg
6
trash - big smith
7
emma - richard buckner
8
star star - the frames
9
gyrru gyrru gyrru - gruff rhys (super furry animals)
gyrru gyrru gyrru = welsh for driving driving driving
10
whole wide world - wreckless eric
i finally saw "stranger than fiction". it's in the soundtrack, which i promptly purchased.
11
wild rover - dropkick murphys/dubliners/hooliegans
i hear it nearly every monday evening when i hit up the local irish band (the hooliegans) that play at galloway station.
12
louisiana - the walkmen
13
she's so strange - travis
14
i am trying to break your heart - wilco
it's just really catchy
Lemon Grove Ave is great. That whole CD is pretty catchy. I like "butterfly" too.
Rehab I catch myself singing the no, no, no part quite often.

yeah, "butterfly" is a great song. i like the rawness of that first EP/album a little more than some of his later stuff, but all of it is good.

"i'm no white bread; i'm wheat bread. i don't make much money but i'm well fed. i don't learn too much to earn too much; i just don't like walkin' 'round half dead."

yesterday, for about nine hours straight, "oops, i did it again" by britney was on a continual loop in my head. NOT cool.

ha! nice!
i think i'd have to take a drill to my temple if any britney song got stuck for too long. luckily, i've managed to never sit through an entire britney spears song and can't even think of a title, other then the one you've just mentioned.

I completely agree with you about the first Mason album. Something special about that one just hasn't reappeared since. Of course I am sure we could make a list a mile long of artists who never quite found the magic after their first breakthrough.
