Introduction

there is an amazing, dilapidated shipyard behind my office. as a history and architecture geek, i love meandering around this yard, wondering what it was like back in the day. luckily, there is an amazing website that chronicles the pier's history and current status. from what i've learned, at one point it was the largest shipyard on the west coast, and during WWII employed 10,000 people. now it's virtually abandoned and a shell of its former self. here are some of my personal pictures....
