Simple Pleasures

I love to eat and I love to socialize. Growing up in the "50s" in rural North Dakota with seven brothers and sisters, eating out was unheard of, so this is still quite a treat for me.

It doesn't get any beter than that

All day I can get excited about watching a special show that I have gotten involved with. I used to be that way about ER. It isn't as good now as it used to be, but on Thursdays I would look forward to it all day. I would not even answer the phone when it was on. Just the whole concept of looking forward to an event or an experience can often times be more fun than the actual happening. When the actual experience is better that what you imagined that is the best.

I am a sporadic reader, but when I read a good book I become obbsessed with it and find it hard to get anything else done. It becomes similar a good movie playing in my brain.

I love sports, college footbal or basketball and even golf. I love to go to the event and getting caught up with the excitement and the frenzy a such but sometimes it's even more fun to watch on TV in order to see replays and such.

For some reason this has always been such a joy for me. I enjoy them at home, but there is something about going out to the movie, eating popcorn and candy, etc. Maybe it is because as I was growing up that was one of the few special things we got to do.

I especially enjoy doing this is the fall when there is a little nip in the air. As you are walking you warm up, but your nose and ears stay cold.
