Sounds like you need a Bobby Flay Cook Book.
This is my mom's potato salad, hence it is my favorite. Easy Peasy.
2 lbs. potatoes (5 to 6 medium), peeled and cut into 3/4-inch chunks
1 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1 cup thinly sliced celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped (optional)
1. In saucepan, cover potatoes with water; bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Drain and cool slightly.
2. In large bowl, combine mayonnaise, vinegar, salt, sugar and pepper. Add potatoes, celery, onion and eggs and toss gently. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Chocolate Chip Cookies - use the recipe on the package but all brown sugar.
Wilted lettuce - A large bowl of torn fresh lettuce, not head lettuce. Crumble 6-8 strips of bacon, salt and pepper on lettuce. Heat in microwave equal amounts of vinegar and sugar...maybe 1/3 cup each? Throw in a couple T. bacon grease. Reheat just a little...it will pop all over microwave if don't watch it. Pour over lettuce immediately. Toss.
Serve with strawberry shortcake.

Okay, I was born and raised in Kansas City so I was required to smoke meat before I could walk.
Ribs: Buy baby back ribs.
Boil them in a big pot of water for 30 minutes; skimming off grease occasionally.
Pile the hickory chips on a bed of gray charcol. (always keep a 5 gallon bucket full of hickory chips and water close by.
Fill the smoker liquid tray with with Newcastle beer. (if you don't have a liquid tray thingy, you can put the ribs on a rack in a cookie sheet filled with beer)
Put the ribs on.
Check the temperature often and make sure it never gets above 190 degrees F.
Add more charcol, beer, and hickory chips as required.
Smoke for 1 hour.
After one hour slather ribs with Gates and Sons sauce. Flip once and slather again. Wait 20 minutes - flip and slather.
They are perfvect and done after a 40 to 45 minutes of flip and slathering.
Remove and eat with potato salad and baked beans. Always heat your sauce for dipping.
