Introduction
I said these words and then discovered I was very pleased that they had come out of my mouth. Weird? Sure, maybe. Whatever.
1
scotch (verb)
2
3
hors de combat
4
parsimony
5
sauve qui peut
6
declivity
7
slurry
8
trenchant
9
swiz
It's a UK slang term that means "a swindle." I learned this from a Thomas the Tank Engine book, believe it or not.
10
woeful
In the sense of "woefully inadequate."
11
frog-march
I've only used this online, I have to admit -- the words haven't actually passed my lips yet (ever). But the expression kind of cracks me up every time.
12
screed
Say it a few times. Boy, it's a good one, isn't it?
I hope I never have to use the word "debriding" in conversation. Sounds gruesome and/or painful! I kind of like "parsimony" though. I'll have to see if I can work that one in sometime. :)

Well, I looked these up so you have done me a service by adding to my vocabulary; thank you mr. nbr.
I don't see myself using 'screed' as I usually avoid long monotonous speeches or pieces of writing unless offered by Ol' Hippie, but 'trenchant' is doable.
