Momisms of the '50s Mom

Introduction
I grew up with a 1950s mom. FYI the moms in our neighborhood were not the Donna Reed, June Cleaver type wearing pearls and shirtwaist dresses while cleaning at home. They mostly wore just pants (or shorts in AZ) and cotton tops. These were ladies who were raised during the depression by parents who knew that their offspring would have to be strong to survive. Times have changes and we now have Parents Magazine (among many others) and Dr. Dobson. Today's parents are much more concerned with their child's ego than the 50's Mom was - as you shall see...

Either eat what I put in front of you, or go to bed hungry!
Do you think I'm made of money or Do you think money just grow on trees!
You'd lose your head if it wasn't attached!
If you had a brain you'd be dangerous.
EAT! There are children starving in China.
Just wait until your Dad gets home!!
My kids are, "like wouldn't they wish for a car and drive?"
