He doesn't speak, but every character that interacts with Gordon is astonished, if not mesmerized by his intelligence. Once things go awry, it is up to Gordon to save the day. The final scene, in which Gordon has to make the "choice", left gamers waiting 7 more years until they got more answers. Metal Gear Solid changed the way gamers viewed the characters they were playing in the virtual worlds in which they live. MGS' main character was Solid Snake; quite possibly the baddest man to ever walk the video game platform. There was nothing he would not do to get the job done. But what was interesting about Solid Snake was his sordid family past, as well as his relationship with Meryl, the Colonel, Otacon, and his brother, Liquid Snake.
