Introduction

I've been a lot of places and drunk a lot of drinks. Here are some of the best cocktails I've had and the best places I've had them.

1

Brazilian Lemonade - Yardhouse, San Diego, CA

This lemonade has some bite. Its one of those drinks that taste like juice, but has you dancing on tabletops an hour later.

Caipirinha - Random Dive, Mission, San Francisco, CA

I was already intoxicated by the time I got to the bar (which is why I can't remember the name), but the caipirinhas here were delicious and powerful.

Peach Daiquiri - Circus Circus Pool, Las Vegas, NV

If I had more time I would have had many, many daiquiris here. Not only was it both sweet and strong, it came in a cup that had its own misting spray to cool you down.

Long Island Iced Tea - Applebees, Port Orange, FL

I lived next to an Applebee's in college and would have a Long Island while I waited to pick up my food. The bartender was cool and would give it an extra kick for me.

Mojito - Cardozo Hotel, Miami Beach, FL

My first mojito and I have never had another one that compared. The sunset shining on the glistening bodies of Ocean Drive complemented the sweet drink.

Mudslide - Beckett's Irish Pub, Berkeley, CA

Who knew the best mudslide could be found at a pub? No lie, the mudslides here are rich, chocolatey and not for sissies.

Bellini - Cheesecake Factory, Las Vegas, NV

It's no secret I love peaches. This classy drink blended peaches and champagne so well that it had to make the list.

Mai Tai - Buca di Beppo, Indianapolis, IN

I've found that whenever I visit a bar, the bartender likely does not how to make a Mai Tai and therefore make it too strong. But this Indy Mai Tai was so strong I couldn't finish half of it and instead of partying that night like I planned to, I laid in my bed and just stared dizzily at the ceiling.

Paradise Punch - Hole in the wall bar, Seattle, WA

It goes by many names and tastes like Hawaiian Punch. This Seattle fave came with enough fruit garnish to make the Chiquita Banana lady weep in a corner.

Black Belt Martini - Marie Callender's, Los Angeles, CA

The Black Belt Martini really kicks ass. It has so many liquors and is so strong that it is literally black. Very tasty.

Tie-Me-To-the-Bedpost - Millers at Houston MO.
Southern Comfort and about 4 liquors. I don't have this recipe at work but will follow later. A really great drink, not overly sweet and not sour!

The Sin Zen Tea at Bar Louie. This is a chain, which automatically makes it lame, I suppose, but it's the best martini I've ever sampled. Green Tea Liqueur, fresh blackberry garnish and some other stuff I can't remember. Delish.
