Necessary "To do's" to start a business.

Introduction
I am currently starting a new business and am running the gauntlet of items to check off my list
1
Form entity
legal structure, hopefully to keep your personal affairs from the suing public

Obtain EIN
so the fed knows where to send tax liens
3
Obtain State Sales Tax #
so the state knows where to send tax liens
4
apply for Unemployment Tax #
so your fired employees can get free money
5
apply for withholding #
so you can send your taxes to state and federal hopefully preventing 2 and 3.

Search and acquire office space
so you can lock the door and go home for the evening ,,,,maybe!

arrange for telephones and Internet hook up
So customers can call and/ or email to complain.

obtain office furniture
so you can sell it at 10 cents on the dollar so someone else can go into business.

apply for business insurance i.e. liability, workers comp, vehicle etc.
to prevent losing all your money at one time.

Obtain county Business Lic.
Lest they shut you down

Obtain City Lic
Yup, they get a little cut too!

Keep a sense of humor
If you don't, running this gauntlet will drive you insane before you open your doors.
