Balloon Lunacy

Introduction

One definition of the word lunacy in my dictionary reads: "wild foolishness; extravagant folly." It seems to me that the balloon fashions shown below might qualify for that. These images came to me in an email. They struck me as amusing, creative, imaginative, and completely impractical! I investigated a bit to see if I could learn more about them. Although I can't verify where these photos came from, I came across an interesting site about the upcoming Balloon Twisters Convention, "Twist & Shout 2008" to be held February 20 - 24, 2008 at Burlington, MA near Boston. Balloon art has apparently come a long way since the days of street carnival clowns making dachshund dogs, mice, and swords from twisted balloons!
