Carl Lewis - Olympic Athlete

I met him at the 1986 Olympic Festival in Houston, TX
2

Chris Isaak - Musician

I met Chris after a free outdoor concert in Houston at the Adam's Mark Hotel in 1991. We spotted him coming out of his trailer and when for an autograph. He asked where he could get good Vietnamese food and he also signed the cast on my arm. He wrote, "I'm sorry I did this to you. Love, Chris Isaak." Sigh.

My dog ate the cast (which I saved) a few years later. It was really hard to forgive her, but I got over it. How can a dog resist a stinky cast?

Farrah Fawcett - Actress

I've actually met Farrah three times. Once at church where she was visiting her sister. I stood behind her and Ryan O'Neal in line at the movies on Christmas night in Houston, TX. And finally my mother and I ran into her at the grocery store in Houston around 1994 or so.

George Brett - former Kansas City Royal

Shortly before the pine-tar incident - I met George at a Kansas City vs. Yankees game in Kansas City. He was very nice, shook my hand and gave me a hat. I must have been about 8 years old...
5

Greg Louganis - Olympic Diver

I met Greg at a swim meet in Oklahoma in the late 1970s. We watched him dive in the competition. I met him and got his autograph during warm-ups and practice the day before.
6

Hakeem Olajuwon - former Houston Rocket

I worked for a company that had Mr. Olajuwon as a client. I helped manage some of his fan club activities.
7

Henry Thomas - Actor

The ET actor (aka Elliott) ate at the restaurant I worked for in college. I believe I waited on him in 1990 or 1991. He attended Blynn College in Brenham, tX and lived in the area.
8

Jacklyn Smith - Actress

The former Charlie's Angel visited the store where I worked at the Galleria in Houston, TX.... sometime around 1987.
9

Jeff Bezos - founder of Amazon.com

Met at a conference in 2001. Enthusiastic guy.
10

Joanne Whorley - Actress

Rode an elevator with Ms. Whorley in Houston, TX.
11

K.D. Lang - Musician

Performed at the US Olympic Festival in 1986 in Houston, TX. I was a part of the opening ceremonies and met her at a reception.
12

Kenny Rogers - Musician

My mother chased poor Mr. Rogers into a Burger King parking lot. She didn't really chase him, more like "tailed" him until he stopped. He was driving a station wagon - and obviously trying to avoid any attention. Fat chance - my mom got his autograph before he went in the restaurant.
13

Lyle Lovett - Musician

Met him at a performance and subsequent party at Texas A&M around 1991.
14

Mary Lou Retton - Olympic Athlete

Met the pint-size athlete at a grocery store in my neighborhood around 1987 or 1988. She trained in the area with Bela Karolyi.
15

Mojo Nixon - Musician/Radio Host

Came in to record a PSA when I worked at college radio station at Texas A&M around 1990. Met him several years later (1997) at one of his concerts in Houston.
16

Penn Jillette - Magician/Performer

Shook his hand after his performance at the Rio in Vegas during my honeymoon in 2003.
17

Ryan O'Neal - Actor

Stood in line behind him and Farrah at the movies on Christmas evening in the late eighties.
18

Smokey Robinson - Singer

Rode the elevator at the MGM Grand with Smokey the morning of my wedding in Las Vegas. I invited him to the wedding - just in case he was available. :)
19

The Beach Boys - Rock Band

They performed at the 1986 US Olympic Festival in Houston, TX. Met them at a reception for the performers in the shows.
20

The Hooters - Rock Band

Met the band at AstroWorld in Houston around 1986. Ran into them during the day before their evening concert at the park. They were very nice - and rode some rides with my friend and I.
21

The Ramones - Rock Band

Met the band at a Hard Rock Cafe memorabilia signing. Actually got all four band member's signatures.
22

Wiley Wiggins - Actor

Met the actor (Mitch in Dazed and Confused) the day after I saw the movie for the first time. The next day I was at the TX Renaissance festival - and saw him as soon as we entered the festival. He was alone - waiting on some friends - and asked if he could hang out with me and my friend for a while. He was a nice kid. Loved him in the movie. He's my two degrees of separation between me and Matthew McConaughey!
23

Oops I forgot one.... Patrick Swayze

My best friend in high school was a dancer - and was attending a dance class with Patrick's mom at her regular studio... she was working there for a few months guest teaching some groups. Patrick was there one night dancing and co-teaching my friend's class - so she called me to come pick her up. Talk about lucky! She got to take a dance class with him - and this was back in the Dirty Dancing days... around 1988. And yes, he was wearing a headband and tights.

Oops I forgot another one... Frank Bielic

My husband and I ran into the Trading Spaces designer and his wife (very cute!) at an antique show. I introduced myself to him inside... and ran into him later. He followed us out to our car to check out our purchases, and showed us his as well. He's just like he is on the show. Super nice.

Very impressive list! You have quite the autograph collection. Make sure to keep it away from your dog :)

I would say my favorite was Chris Isaak. He talked to us for quite a bit. He's very charming and is the only straight man I can think of that can pull off wearing a spangled suit.

I also have to say that Greg Louganis was gorgeous - even when he was only 18. It was between 1977 and 1979 when I met him. Of course he was tan with really white teeth and totally dreamy in my 8 year old headspace.

Oooohhhh!!! Patrick Swayze! I REALLY liked him around the Dirty Dancing days. Roadhouse is one of my favorite movies. He looks very rough these days. I just saw a new pic of him in People magazine. He looks like he's had a rough past few years. Still like him though!
