Introduction
It seems like I never have enough free time to read about my favorite subject: sex. But it seems like almost every day someone recommends a book I should read, or I read a review on a blog that looks great. Here is a list of sex books I plan to read some day.
Do you have any suggestions to add to the list? Have you already read any of these and would like to offer your opinion?
The Case of the Female Orgasm
www.amazon.com/gp/product/0674022467/105-5606414-…
Biologists agree that the male orgasm has a straightforward evolutionary function: it makes males want to have sex more often, which in turn makes them more likely to have offspring. But how do they account for female orgasm, when nearly three-quarters of women don't always reach orgasm during sexual intercourse?

A Mind of Its Own: A Cultural History of the Penis
www.amazon.com/gp/product/0684853205/105-5606414-…
Yes, I 'm a girl, but even girls could stand to learn more about the penis and how it has been viewed throughout history.
David M. Friedman's A Mind of Its Own is a cultural examination of the penis, from ancient Sumer to the present. Friedman convincingly suggests that humankind's various and contradictory attitudes toward the penis have been instrumental in mapping the course of both Western civilization and world history.
How To Become A Porn Director: Making Amateur Adult Films
www.amazon.com/gp/product/0976386232/105-5606414-…
My main passion may be erotic writing, but I'll admit I've been thinking about making a porn video for quite some time. This book looks like something that could have some good tips to get started. And if I don't ever get around to making that x-rated masterpiece, at least I'll have some pretty hot home movies.
The Little Bit Naughty Book of Lap Dancing for Your Lover
www.amazon.com/gp/product/1569755582/105-5606414-…
There are no reviews about this book, but the title seems promising. I've learned the striptease moves, I've learned the pole dancing moves. Now I want to bone up (pun intended) on my lap dancing skills.
My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands
www.amazon.com/gp/product/1582346186/105-5606414-…
A sex book written by a stand up comedian probably isn't very sexy, but I'll admit I'm a total voyeur and I love reading about other people's sex lives.
The X List: The National Society of Film Critics' Guide to the Movies That Turn Us on
www.amazon.com/gp/product/0306814455/105-5606414-…
Acknowledging the timeless appeal of eroticism, members of the National Society of Film Critics extol and explicate the movies they deem the most seductive. Their 80 choices include prestige films that depict sex explicitly (e.g., In the Realm of the Senses, Irreversible), steamy box-office smashes (e.g., Basic Instinct, Klute), Hollywood classics (Laura, Gilda), and porn flicks (Deep Throat, Behind the Green Door).
Sex Advice From...
www.amazon.com/gp/product/0811850021/105-5606414-…
Ever wondered if cowboys do it with their boots on? What music a record store clerk plays while going at it? What's really happening up there in the projection booth during the movie? Sex Advice From... bypasses the experts and hits the streets (and the farm, and the runway) for advice on the way we really do it.
My Secret Garden
www.amazon.com/gp/product/0671019872/105-5606414-…
This book caused quite a ruckus when it was released 25 years ago because it directly quotes the sexual fantasies of dozens of women, ranging from the "very common" rape fantasy to lesbian affairs to unusually explicit scenarios that are unmentionable here. While author Nancy Friday maintains that My Secret Garden served to free millions of women from sexual oppression, there's still a need today to get rid of the guilt that millions more still feel when it comes to fantasizing, having orgasms, and making one's sexual wishes be known.
The Sexual State of the Union
www.amazon.com/gp/product/0684838508/105-5606414-…
I'll admit it, I'll read anything by Susie Bright. I adore her. The Sexual State of the Union includes essays about dirty pictures and porn, lesbian marriage and lesbian murder, lesbian men and switching genders, vibrators, and the longevity of feminism.
Annie Sprinkle: Post-Porn Modernist
www.amazon.com/gp/product/1573440396/105-5606414-…
Porn-star-turned-performance-artist Annie Sprinkle presents an illustrated history of her 25-year career, documenting her transformation from ugly duckling to prostitute to porn queen to sexual healer, activist, and educator.
XXX: 30 Porn-Star Portraits
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LP5IOC/105-5606414-…
I've flipped through this book in porn stores over and over and it's beautiful. This is a book I'll leave out on my coffee table to guests after I've finished reading through it.
Pornocopia: Porn, Sex, Technology and Desire
www.amazon.com/gp/product/1852427205/105-5606414-…
Author Laurence O'Toole argues that the expansion of new technologies-video, cable, the Internet-is substantially changing the status of pornography in society. Covering the American and British porn scenes, Pornocopia features interviews with porn activists and police officers and is the first book to seriously consider the role and interest of the porn viewers and porn fans.
Pornoland
www.amazon.com/gp/product/0500284989/105-5606414-…
PORNOLAND is not what you would imagine from the title: this is not a down-and-dirty expose of the seamy exploitation of pornography. This book is a running commentary on the world of making Porn movies, an industry that has flourished since the first movie camera was made (and indeed, in etchings and drawings that date back centuries in time!).
The Sexual Revolution 2.0
www.amazon.com/gp/product/1569754772/002-0802627-…
