Introduction
Listing pros and cons of getting book 7 tonight
Pro: I'll have it right away
Other than iPhone, I've never cared that much about being first on the block. And with a 12 million print first press, I'm not thinking it's going to be sold out or exclusive.
Pro:Easy time to buy
I don't have any plans tonight (sad, not really, have to work tomorrow).
Pro: Gives me something to read on the train
Rather than driving to work tomorrow, I can train, and might not mind waiting 14 minutes or whatever between trains on the weekend if I'm reading.
Con: The "party" aspect
Umm, the idiots in costumes and all that. Well that's not fair, enthusiastic fans can do as they will, I'd just rather not be around for it all.
Con: Midnight means 930-1000 pm
I'd imagine I'd have to go earlier to get it and go home quickly (need the sleep, again, have work tomorrow).
Con: Not necessary
I'm working all day tomorrow. I just started a book ("The Ingenuity Gap"). And if the ending is spoiled for me, it doesn't stop my enjoying the book. (Plus I wanted to catch up on movies this weekend).
Con: Amazon is almost certainly cheaper
Buying in store is hardly ever as cheap as Amazon, even including Prime shipping.
Con: Not a huge Potter fan
I enjoy them, but not like a crazy Potter fan.
Con: Wide availability
Yes, iPhone was available easily through the weekend of launch and I waited in line for it. And such will likely be the case with HP7. So I'll be able to walk a few blocks to a bookstore by the office tomorrow during lunch.
