I believe the world would be a better place if everyone was required to read... instead of watching television.

Biomimicry. I just started it, but pretty much I think it is a book about how nature has the ultimate blue print for things and how we should look to nature for solutions.
Nature runs on sunlight
Nature uses only the energy it needs
Nature fits form to function
Nature recycles everything
Nature rewards cooperation
Nature banks on diversity
Nature demands local expertise
Nature curbs excess from within
nature taps the power of limits
Check it out.

oops.
omnivore's dilemma by michael pollen. talks a lot about nature, ecosystems, sustainability and how the corporate food chain ignores all of this for a quick buck.

i thought "let my people go surfing" by yvon chouinard was pretty interesting. he owns patagonia, one of the greenest companies in the clothing industry. i'm not sure, though, how his green model of business can be applied to other industries.

I used to love Marilyn Vos Savant, but she spends too much time on "true but not true" math oddities. Like the Let's Make A Deal conundrum.
But I agree about reading; couldn't live without it. Also games and puzzles are good; anything that keeps blood flowing to the old noggin.
