With gas prices still in the upper $3 range, these cars get the most bang for your buck.
(However, if you're doing this for environmental reasons or you don't need a new car, remember that it costs more fossil fuel to build a new car than it does to drive an existing less fuel efficient one.)

Notice that none of these vehicles are North American! As long as big oil had congress under control, fuel economy in this part of the world will be underfunded.

Great list, Noah! I drove a Honda Civic for 10 years before I got my Geo Metro which I've had for 13 years now. I plan on driving it until it falls off around me. :-) When I do get a new car, it will be another fuel efficient one like the ones on this list.
