Introduction

I came across this list at Ultimatecarpage.com Amazing facts about Top Fuel dragsters.

One dragster's 500-inch Hemi makes more horsepower than the first 4 rows at Daytona.

Wow! I never was a fan but I can honestly say I'm interested now. That's incredible. Ever been to a race?

You have never been to a race? It's like NASCAR, you must go at least once in your life. The sounds, the smells, you can fell the engines in your chest, and if you are near the end of the track, when the chutes open, the sound and vibrations will almost knock you over. It is amazing.

I second the engines in the chest feeling. My son was so excited he was jumping up and down and back and forth over 10 feet of a bench seating area. He could hardly contain himself. I was having a hard time keeping his ear plugs in! The setting was the Winternationals in Pomona CA in 1995 Feb. I remember a fan walking out after the races with an oil pan with a hole blown right through it as a souvenir. Now thats a souvenir.

I loved the funny cars and the top fuelers. Of course this was years ago. Best race: Don "The Snake" Prudhomme and Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen. Oh, those were the days, my friend.

Good to see you back.
