Introduction
This list is in no particular order. It contains the 100 lps that find the most satisfying. The criteria is simply that as the years go by these are the lps I keep playing.
LOVE: FOREVER CHANGES
I first bought this in 1974 in Wigan, after my brother had bought the Love Masters compilation. I had read about Love in the NME and have found this to be one of those albums everyone likes. I think this is a true classic
SHIRLEY COLLINS & THE ALBION BAND: NO ROSES
This is a masterpeice. I bought it my brother for his birthday when it came out in 1972. This is one of those lps that still sounds fresh, the muscians have just tapped into what ever makes music timeless.
LEONARD COHEN: VARIOUS POSITIONS
I find it difficult to choose an lp of Leonard's but I find this to be one that repays repeated listenings. It is Leonard's return from the wilderness of Death of a Ladies Man, yes, I know there was Recent Songs but this was the one that impressed CBS along with Jenny Sings Lenny, though it was not originally released in the US.
THE DECEMBERISTS: CASTAWAYS & CUTOUTS
Again difficult to pick one lp from the Meloy cannon but this has Clementine
