and even then, you're not sure who you can trust.

Sometimes, even your closest confidant will turn on you.

And if something goes wrong, you will be the one who gets the blame, even if you're not at fault.

You can expect to encounter much mudslinging.

Some people won't be convinced you are the right choice, no matter what you do.

Everyone will want your ear.

You have to be careful who you spend time with,

because someone will always be watching you and listening to you.

The slightest misstep, and the media will eat you alive.

You have to find some way to make yourself stand out from all the other candidates.

You may even find yourself in a precarious situation and in need of protection.
