You have to do a lot of traveling,

2
eat a lot of fundraiser dinners,

3
shake a lot of hands,

4
kiss a lot of babies,

5
and kiss a lot of...

6
There will be a lot of challenges to overcome.

7
Trying to please everyone becomes a real balancing act.

8
You have to jump through a lot of hoops

9
and pull out every trick you know.

10
You have to try to appeal to everyone from the down and out

11
to the elite rich.

12
You have to keep up on all the news.

13
You have to hire a crack team of advisors,

14
and even then, you're not sure who you can trust.

15
Sometimes, even your closest confidant will turn on you.

16
And if something goes wrong, you will be the one who gets the blame, even if you're not at fault.

17
You can expect to encounter much mudslinging.

18
Some people won't be convinced you are the right choice, no matter what you do.

19
Everyone will want your ear.

20
You have to be careful who you spend time with,

21
because someone will always be watching you and listening to you.

22
The slightest misstep, and the media will eat you alive.

23
You have to find some way to make yourself stand out from all the other candidates.

24
You may even find yourself in a precarious situation and in need of protection.

25
You will have to participate in debates,

26
give a lot of speeches,

27
and deal with hecklers.

28
Sometimes it will seem like your opponent has you by the throat.
29
You have to be careful not to attack any special interest groups.

30
Better make sure your private life is beyond reproach too so that the press can't turn up any skeletons in your closet.

31
You may have a tight budget and have to scrape the bottom of the barrel just to get by.

32
No doubt about it, politics is an ugly business.

33
Some say it is a real dog and pony show.

34
And even if you win the election, before you can accomplish anything, you have to first clean up the mess left behind by whoever was in office before you.

35
At the end of the day on the campaign trail, you may feel like giving up because you are just so dog tired,

36
but if you have what it takes, you get up bright and early the next day to do it all again.

Ha! Ha! LOL.
Daisydear. Please tell me when you are running. I will vote for you.
I am emailing this to my cat and dog buddies.

Those doggone politicians - all bark and all bite.
#31 cracks me up. #35 makes me miss "Little Weebok" (God rests her soul) and #24....there you go, again, posting pictures from that stolen family album you have of mine!
